A BOOK TO REMEMBER When I heard about the book, Special Friends, by Linda Fox, I thought it was going to be about best friends at school. In December 2007, Lisa Gold was on vacation in Hawaii. One night, she went swimming in the sea with her waterproof camera. The camera fell out of her hand and got lost in the waves. She could not find it anywhere. The next day she returned to the beach to keep searching; she could not find her camera. She was very disappointed because there were over 300 pictures in it. "It was my first time in Hawaii. I was upset because I lost all my pictures," she explained. Six years later, Jing, a worker for China Airlines, was walking on a beach in China collecting shells. He saw something unusual in the sand." I thought it was a strange shell," Jing said. " I was surprised it was a camera. It was very dirty and looked old. I was curious. Lisa got very excited and contacted the airline immediately. China Airlines gave Lisa a free ticket to travel to China to get her long-lost camera. "I was happy to see my pictures again.
